About me and my practice
I am a pluralistic therapist which is a collaborative type of psychological support and begins with the assumption that it is unlikely that there is a one size fits all approach that is suitable for all clients. Pluralistic psychotherapy works on the basis that the therapist should be able to use a wide range of different methods and techniques in order to meet the needs best for the individual. This therapy is truly personal to fit your needs and led by you in a collaborative and supportive process with the goals reach together. I believe that if you are part of the journey to healing then it gives you the power and control to you which means that it will be long lasting and sustainable and something that you can use again in times of stress.
I can offer support with a broad range of mental health and emotional challenges and I have particular expertise in working with those who are going through life limiting or life threatening illnesses and their families, additionally those at end of life. I also enjoy working with those who have additional and or neurodiverse needs.
Experience
I have fulfilled various roles and responsibilities in diverse industries in both the public, private and voluntary sector in the UK and abroad. Originally training as a registered mental health nurse with hands on experience of working with children, adults and older people suffering from various mental health conditions. I have managed and worked in Mental health units as well as in refuges and with care leavers
I am Certificate in Education qualified with teaching & training experience and have written and delivered courses on my subject to College and University students.
I am passionate about equality and diversity having worked on numerous community related projects both here and in the Middle East and have a good understanding of challenges faced by minority and vulnerable groups.
